(2nd Birthday Celebration) The Glass Rabbit released!
The Glass Rabbit is one of a variety of anime movies that dealt with World War II. A lot of them use the bombing of Hiroshima as a focal point. This movie is different in regard with that in that the focus is the firebombing of Tokyo by the U.S. Army Air Corps using incendiary bombs. In many ways, the death toll and destruction caused by incendiary bombs is just as bad as having the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
War is something we hope we will never experience firsthand.
I would like to thank the folks who have given me background information about this bombing. Their information was invaluable in the translation.

I hadn't heard of this one before, and look forward to watching it. I've seen Grave of the Fireflies, which I found quite thought provoking, and this one looks similar.
ReplyDeleteThis is a different style of movie from Grave of the Fireflies. I kind of think of it as another view of that period of history.
DeleteI've seen two or three of these World War II anime movies and they've struck me as being too similar so I hesitate to try this one out.
ReplyDeleteWhile I am happy that you subbed this, exactly why did you? I mean, this doesn't look like the kind of thing you'd normally go for.
ReplyDeleteI admit that this was a bit out of my specialty, but I do like historical anime.
DeleteGood job...
ReplyDeleteQue bien siempre he querido ver esta pelicula... gracias
ReplyDeleteFor those who liked The Glass Rabbit, I recommend watching the similar little-known anime Who's Left Behind.
