I personally admit that there is only one series in the entire list of series airing in the Fall 2011 season that would actually fit the criteria of a series that is suitable for Licca Fansubs to work on. We will not mention this series, but we are definitely considering subbing that series.
However, this is dependent on several conditions, all of which will need to be satisfied:
1. The series must not be licensed.
2. The series must not be simulcast by Crunchyroll, Funimation, Niconico, or any other authorized anime distributor in the United States.
3. We will need someone capable of capping transport streams of the series in question.
4. Happy Kappi will need to end right on or before the start of this series.
As for the fulfillment of condition #4, a quick look at the airing schedule indicates that episode 21 of Happy Kappi will be airing on September 7th, 2011. If Happy Kappi stops at 24 episodes, then that should put us right at the beginning of the Fall 2011 season. If Happy Kappi does not stop there, then we will continue with Happy Kappi and forgo the Fall 2011 season.

ReplyDeleteI don't know about the Fall season. I think that Ikoku Meiro no Croisée from the current season, fits Licca's style, but Ayako is already doing a decent job of subbing it, and It looks like it is licensed.
ReplyDeleteIf you need a new project that does fit you perfectly, I would recommend Watashi to Watashi: Futari no Lotte. Most English speaking people know it as The Parent Trap. If you are doing Pollyanna, it seems you should do the other famous Hayley Mills movie as well. This series is based off of a book by Erich Kästner entitled Das doppelte Lottchen or Lottie and Lisa in English. Like Pollyanna, the book is quite a bit different than the movie.
You can also feel free to tackle Ashita no Nadja. I would love to see a nice English sub of that entire series, although it may be licensed. I know there are Spanish and French dubbed versions airing.
Watashi to Watashi: Futari no Lotte is a great serie (I watch the raw of it very pleasant serie) but there's other non-wmt Nippon Animation that could be great: Wakakusa no Charlotte, Haikara-San ga tooru, Kaze no Naka no Shoujo Kinpatsu no Jeanie (1992) or the non-nippon animation 1979 version Kinpatsu no Jeanie ... BTW Ashita no Nadja was completly sub in english :

Yes, Ashita no Nadja was completely subbed in English.
ReplyDeleteWe actually were considering Ikoku Meiro no Croisee, but that obviously got subbed (and licensed). We wouldn't have been able to really do it without overtaxing our resources anyway.
I think the big problem is that there's so many good series that haven't been subbed, and we simply can't get to them all (looking at it a practical standpoint). I figure that we'll knock out as many as we can.
You could always help Live Evil, Saizen, and Frostii finish Yawara!

Sorry Doll Licca, I'm just suffering from Yawara withdrawal. I am enjoying your subs. I am sure that, whatever you choose to sub, I will be watching it.
it'll be nice to see/watch WMT's Prince Cedie get subbed. but whatever Licca-sub may pick am very looking forward to it... Thank you so much, it brings me so much joy watching those classics anime again, and to think only few of us can only remember 'em...
