An update on our projects and scheduling

Scheduling

Due to personal issues, I will be out of town the week of January 7th, with no access to my fansubbing materials.  I will try to queue as much work as possible for my timer before I leave.  I will be back on January 11th.

My Annette

I would like to personally apologize for the slow rate in which I'm translating the series.  This series has turned out to be a lot more difficult emotionally to work with (especially when you already know what happens next).  Hopefully, once I get past episode 35 or so, it should go faster.

I will translate episode 4 as soon as I get My Annette episode 26 translated.

Little Women II - Jo's Boys

The translator for this has been extremely busy with work and was unable to provide scripts for the last couple of months.  I will be personally translating episodes 33 and 34 myself, as they are among my very favorite episodes in the series.  I would like to personally apologize for the delay and I will try to keep the project moving forward.

Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Pure

As I mentioned earlier, this project is run on the Wasurenai editors who are assigned to this series.  Due to the Christmas holidays, they were unable to work on the series.  As of this writing, Lexica is working on episode 17 right now.  From there, it will go to Asairo for a second QC check, and then it will go to me for the final encode.  I expect episode 18 to be ready by mid-February (there is a reason for that which I will go into later).

Tonde Buurin

The translator for this project has not been seen since early December.  We suspect he might have been caught up in work or school.  I will give everyone an update on that situation as it becomes available.

Idol Densetsu Eriko

We are going at a pretty decent pace with the series.  We should have episode 7 out soon, and we already have quite a few episodes translated ahead of that.

Comments and requests

We will take requests for series.  As this group is a small group, we have no way of getting to every request.  However, they are a source of ideas for us (it was how I learned about A Little Princess Sara), and I can be on the lookout for raws for my import orders.  Please e-mail us if there are series which you want us to consider.  We already have a pretty large list of potential future projects that we can consider once we finish our current projects.

    I think that I may have mentioned this before, but my suggestion is Tobe! Isami (a few episodes have been released, as Soar High! Isami, in 3 DVDs by Hirameki but they were basically unoticed and they've given up on their very small American business).

    It's a wonderful show from around 1995, directed by Tatsuo Sato (director of Stellvia of the Universe) and produced by NHK.

      I actually have volumes 1 and 3 of the US release of Tobe! Isami (found them while shopping in some used bookstores around my home).

    If another WMT is being considered, then it would be nice to see either Little Prince Cedie, or Bush Baby. I think ARR did the first episode for both, but has done nothing further with them.

    Thanks for your great work. I love classic Anime, so you're one of my favourite sub-groups.
    Do you know about "Nanatsu no Umi no Tico". MJN isn't working at all on the series. Are there any chances that you could finish this beautiful series? I cannot translate or provide raws. I'm just curious. Many thanks in advance.

      Considering to what happened to MJN, Nanatsu no Umi no Tico is now open for us to work on if we so desire. We would have to finish Annette to even consider finishing it, though.

      Licca, provided Athanor is okay with it and you yourself don't have them, I can see if I can get you the DVDs. It will take a couple of weekends whenever Athanor is in the mood though (reference to what I have mentioned in my blog post above).

    Agree about Rascal too. I think I may have mentioned it some months back. I don't remember ever having seen this one before, but I do remember being assigned the book to read in about grade six.

    As always, I support more WMT series, it is my dream to see them all subbed (well, minus Little women I).

    So: Little Prince Cedie, Racal, Nanatsu no Umi no Tico, Lassie, Katri, probbaly you wont take it Licca as theres a group + LE? I think on it, but god, it has not moved at all in YEARS! I have given up hope with Katri.

    There is also Bush Baby and Tom Sawyer.

    So in short, I want more WMT series, any of them, all are wonderful, but I think Cedie is too good and needs some serious love, I think its the best of the currently unsubbed WMT series.

    I have RAWs collected from saiei mainly of all WMT series, so if you are in need do let us know.

      These days Katri is listed in LE's dropped category so I guess it would be free for taking. A shame because two more episodes were released from the Finnish end of the late joint project very recently (currently at 21).

    Thanks for your remarkable dedication to old school anime and WMT.

    But this WMT aside, there's some other old school shoujo that would be awsome to see it sub:

    2 Nippon Animation TV series in historical setting:

    Wakakusa no Charlotte - 1977 TV serie, the only shoujo set in Quebec, Canada that I know. The raw seems to be hard to find but the potential of this serie seem highly promising.

    Haikara-san ga Tooru - 1978 TV serie. A wonderful love story set in the Taishou period that gracfully balance beetween comedy in tragedy in a very innovative way for it's period of creation.

    Finally One set of OVA made by the magical duo of Osamu Dezaki and Akio Sugino.

    Kasei Yakyoku / Nightsong of splendor - OVA 1988:
    Another piece of historical romance set in 1923 just before the great Kanto earthquake that greatly devastate Tokyo. It's a love story between a wealthy girl and a Yakuza set in a way that greatly evoke the masterful atmosphere of Oniisama e. The Technogirl was planning to release this 4 episode serie back in late 90's / early 2000's but the project was unfortunatly never set in motion.

    Anyway thanks again for your dedication to the cause of old school anime, you're an exemple to all fansub group all there!

    Decided to mention a couple of series that I haven't seen mentioned in the comments.

    My dream project would be subs of Yume no Hoshi no Button Nose. This is a show I watched on TV in Norway around 16 years ago. I have been wanting to check it out again for a long time, but haven't been able to so far. Unfortunately I have no idea about the availability of raws for this show.

    Two other series that I would have liked to check out is Attacker You! and Attack Number One. I have heard good things about both of the series, but haven't been able to check them out due to lack of subs or dubs in a language that I can understand.

    In general I have to say I like your choice of projects, although I still haven't had the time to check out too many of them.

      Softsubbing is reserved for joint projects with other groups and with my approval. All projects done solely by this group will be hardsubbed.

    I don't know if your situation has chanced since the last time we talked, but I desperately need a translation checker for my main project, "Daltanious: Robot of the Future". It's not WMV, but it's a series that does need some much needed attention. I hope you can help me out with this dilemma.

    Regard suggestions, I would appreciate translating :

    1 -Nightsong of splendor: because it is an OVA and has same feel to Oniisama e, i think i want it the most.

    2 -Watashi to Watashi: Futari no Lotte

    3- Ace wo Nerae OVA 1 and Final Stage, both are proper sequel to first TV and movie, so it would be worth it to translate it.

    I definitly second these ones
    Watashi to Watashi: Futari no Lotte Excellent drama.

    Ace wo Nerae OVA are absolute masterpiece, I've got the chance to got the dvd sub in french of the First OVA series and it's definitly got a Oniisama e vibe and atmosphere so it's my favorite OVA from 80's with Nightsong of Splendor!.

    Attacker You! Once again a serie witch was released in japanese with french subtitles. Nice series but the it's a shoujo manga witch was so much shounenised in his anime version that it's lost a big chunck of emotional impact and it's almost only Voley, Voley and more voley. Attack No 1 from 1969 seem to had done an amazing job in that departement.

    Lady Georgie- Remarkable shoujo drama, once again one that was release in Japanese with french subtiles on dvd in France. Really recommended classic!

    i dont know if you could do it but id really appreciate if you sub yes pretty cure 5 gogo it has subbers but those subbers have very bad quality releases and takes too long i hate how they remove everything from -chan to -sama even a line from the opening song which wasnt written in kanji down i hate those but i must watch it because they are the only ones doing this i cant watch other seasons before they finish this and the worst thing is that they dont let us ask when is the episode going to be released they release all others in time except the one i look forward to... they released 2 episodes in half year they said they would take translation slower but not that slow...

    p.s. does anybody knows what happened to wasurenai subs i cant reach their site anymore all other sites are working just fine even google cant reach it...

    I would really like you to consider "Aishite Knight" for your future projects. This is one of my all time favorite anime series. It got only 4 episodes subbed by random groups that don't exist anymore (as far as I know). I know French but it was heavily censored in France (some scenes had been cut out too). I would be really glad to see "Aishite Knight" subbed. Thank you for your time :)
    And thanks a lot for translating all these wonderful old shoujo series!
