As mentioned before, this project is a joint project with Wasurenai. We are proud to work with a group like them.
This joint has actually been in the works for the last 3 or 4 months. A lot of it had to do with logistical planning and preparation, including obtaining raws, master raw preparation, and assigning appropriate people to tasks. I will personally be translating and encoding the episodes. As that is the case, both a h.264 Matroska and a XviD AVI will be released, similar to what we did for A Little Princess Sara. The releases will be hardsubbed.
Like the Les Miserables project, Licca Fansubs' position is to not force Wasurenai staff members to work our pace. We will strive to have translations ready on a regular basis and to have encodes done in a timely manner. As people can see from the progress of Les Miserables, as long as we get our work done, everything will fall into place. We feel that the same thing will happen here.
As agreed upon, Wasurenai will be providing the translation checker, the timer, the editors, and the typesetters. This is to maintain consistency with their work with the first season. As usual, we are able to assist in other ways if needed.
As for myself, this is a series that I had personally wanted to do for a very long time, and it is only now that the time is ripe to do it. I do not choose to do a series based on how many people will download it or how much attention I'll get from it. I choose a series to work on based on its merits, and the Mermaid Melody series deserve the finest fansubbing treatment out there.
