The increased filesize is no joke.  I've encoded this to the increased filesize in anticipation of requiring bigger filesizes to keep the quality reasonably good.

Torrent seeding, direct download, and XDCC bots

First off, let me reiterate one thing before I say anything else.

WE WILL NOT OFFER DIRECT DOWNLOAD LINKS.  ANY DIRECT DOWNLOAD LINK THAT YOU SEE IS NOT OFFICIALLY FROM US.

I have had a sour taste in my mouth every time I've dealt with a DDL source.  All the "free" DDL sites have adware/drive-by downloads/other forms of nastiness.  With Firefox, adding appropriate addons can protect you from them, but they also kill your ability to even download them from the places in the first place.  Renting web space doesn't help either because the people downloading them will saturate any bandwidth that you buy.  Colocating a server is expensive if you want it to be a DDL source for anime.  Our group members do not have money coming out of faucets, if you know what I mean.

For that reason, we also do not have an XDCC download bot in our channel.  Our group members are not college students.  In fact, we're past that stage in our lives.  That means we do not have access to university connections, and if we wanted something that would be good for XDCC sources, we would be back to the colocation problem.

Now, that brings us back to the torrent seeding issues.  Yes, that is a problem that needs to be addressed.  We will handle this in a few ways:

1.  If one of our torrents has absolutely no seeds at all, please e-mail us or talk to me in our IRC channel.  I will personally arrange to have them seeded. 

2.  If one of our torrents has a really slow seed, please talk to me in our IRC channel, and I'll decide on a case-by-case basis.

3.  We will be creating a batch torrent as soon as we finish the series.  Batch torrents have this mysterious quality of being perpetually seeded for whatever reason, per my experience.

How are Doll Knights summoned?

This comment asked about certain things that may not be immediately obvious so far in the series, namely how exactly are the Doll Knights summoned.  In light of this, I'm going to see if I can explain it a bit more clearly.

Basically, there two requirements to summon each Doll Knight:

1. Each Doll Knight's Calling Bracelet must be on the person that will be protected.  This is why Yae could not summon Doll Isamu until Dai found his Calling Bracelet (and Scarecrow took it and put it on).
2. Each Doll Knight's master control trinket where the summoning words are uttered must be equipped.  (This requirement is altered starting in episode 28.)

Let's go to each Doll Knight for specifics.

Doll Licca

Doll Licca's Calling Bracelet is currently being worn by Rika.  Her control trinket, the Calling Pendant, is worn by Nanae (Rika's grandmother).

Doll Isamu

Doll Isamu's Calling Bracelet is currently being worn by Scarecrow.  His control trinket, the Calling Watch, is worn by Yae (Nanae's twin sister). (It's called a watch because it looks like one of the old-fashioned windup watches that is on a chain.)

Doll Izumi

(This is behind a cut because there's a spoiler about 10 episodes ahead.)

A little announcement

Today is Labor Day, a.k.a. do no work day.  No work is being done on Super Doll Licca-chan today. :)

I have gotten suggestions on what series we should do after Super Doll Licca-chan.  In light of those suggestions and the fact that all the series under consideration are good series, what we'll do is over the next couple of months, we'll sub the first episode of a couple of series under consideration (as we're still trying to get raws for a lot of these series).  This is to basically to gauge interest and to see if we are capable of giving the series in question the treatment and attention that they deserve.  I will not reveal the names of the series in question, except they are mostly older series that have been either been almost completely ignored or have been totally mangled in process of fansubbing.

We will not be working on these series in earnest until we finish Super Doll Licca-chan, though.  That's what this group was formed to do.
