The actual novel does not actually give a date where it takes place, as far as I recall, but the anime gives a date of 1885, which caused an anachronism when they mentioned the Savoy, which wasn't finished until 1890.

As for the French parts, our translator went and bought a French textbook and a dictionary. As part of the research process in preparation for subbing A Little Princess Sara, we all ended up trying to learn French as well as we can in the short amount of time that we had. We figured between all the staff members, we would be able to figure out the French parts.Doll Liccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09542282546783752328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7860424762765608484.post-66886007511352814632010-11-14T14:20:05.125-06:002010-11-14T14:20:05.125-06:00I just saw this episode a few minutes ago, and you...I just saw this episode a few minutes ago, and you guys did an amazing job of subbing it. Literally! Just one question though: how did you guys translate the French? Do you guys have a staff member who's French, or do you know just enough to understand everything, or did you translate the words through a website? Just curious. Still, great job!Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08525639667885162076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7860424762765608484.post-48980951597608436482010-11-14T13:06:19.937-06:002010-11-14T13:06:19.937-06:00Princess Sarah is in a different league altogether...Princess Sarah is in a different league altogether. It is one of the best World Masterpiece Theater shows, and as such is in elite company, far better than any of the other shows (of its nature/genre) I've seen. I was lucky to see it to the end and in full, and I can say it's an absolutely wonderful experience throughout. Some arcs were very moving and just fantastic, and not only that was also extremely historically accurate to the Victorian London landscape, like most WMT shows.hiroshinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7860424762765608484.post-68245406137527467782010-11-14T05:22:59.576-06:002010-11-14T05:22:59.576-06:00This is such a great series and we are greatful yo...This is such a great series and we are greatful you guys have taken your time to do this series, these older series' storyline are better than alot of the modern series, more fansub group should pick up some of those series to do, as well as the latest one's.

Another series I would recommend has two season and it is called "Lady Lady" in the season one and it has 21 episodes and "Hello! Lady Lin" in season two, which has 36 episodes. It's a great series and in many way are similar to "A Little Princess Sara" and just as good in my opinion.Johnnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7860424762765608484.post-43149779923772208382010-11-14T01:55:02.393-06:002010-11-14T01:55:02.393-06:00Faboulous thanks for your glorious subs!
